A Terrifying Experience
Outlast was released in 2013 and up until this point a lot of great horrors have been published, however, I have to conclude that for a game of this age, it truly was one hell of a terrifying experience.

The game starts with an email received from a whistle-blower and you as an investigative journalist travel to Mount Massive Asylum / Prison to uncover the truth behind Murkoff and their so-called charitable organisation. Equipped with only a video camera as your source of obtaining evidence, and the night vision of the camera, you venture into the what looks like a building in decay to uncover the truth.

The game is full of disturbing images, including gore and scenes that could trouble the mind, however, it does add to the element and fun of the game. The story is incredibly intriguing and adds a lot of dread, as things unexpected occur regularly that could involve playing hide and seek, or running for your life as the player has access to no weapons.

The game isn't perfect though and it should be kept in mind that it's a couple of years old.

It truly was a magnificent experience playing this horror game and the DLC Whistleblower, is a high recommendation in order to gain more insight on the backstory of the original Outlast.

If you're a fan of horror and don't mind having plenty of scares, and a possible sleepless night, I would highly recommended grabbing a copy of this game from Steam.

I'll be sure to delve into Outlast 2 as well and see what other horrors await.
