Record of Lodoss War-Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth- (2020)

This game seems to take all of its graphical ques for from the legendary game Castlevania: SotN. It has the same art and pixel and it looks great for it. Even the main character has a run animation like Alucard. The color are bright and pleasing to the eye and combat is smooth and quick. However, there are many problems I have with this game. The music is forgettable, there are no real catchy tunes that get stuck in your. The map layout is also lacking being just a big square set of blocks smushed together with no identity which is important for this style of game. The game is very short only clocking in about 5 hours now this wouldn't be a problem but on top of being short the game is too easy. Rarely do you run into a section that gives you problems as the game is just to liberal with giving you magic items and weapons that easily over power your enemies. I still had fun with the game to be sure but as far as Metroidvania's go this one doesn't even come close to reaching the upper tier of the genre. If you are a fan of said type of games you will have fun with this one but make sure you pick it up on sale. I paid about 5 USD for my copy and I actually don't feel bad about my purchase. Paying any more than will give you buyers remorse.
