Great game - stupid ending
This is an incredible must play game. It is unfortunate that the last level is so bad. All the other levels are so well balanced that if you're on your toes and observant you can make pretty good progress with few frustrating deaths. That all goes out the window in the last level, which forces you into a trial and error situation. On the last level the best option is to run blindly forward see what you're facing you get killed immediately but you then know what you're supposed to do. The final boss is the same way, it's not about reacting to the boss but instead playing several times so you can learn the patterns. Such a shame that such a well thought out game drops the ball at the 5 yard line. Also, it used the increasing popular kill the fat guy trope. We decided as a society that it was tasteless to have the black guy die first, but somehow changing that trope to a fat guy is okay. Ugh.

linear but great
the final boss fight is a bit lackluster and some of the rat imagery just really ramps up the ick factor but this is great. one of my favorites I played in 2020.
