Descent II (1996)
The Material Defender returns in this underground 360 degree action shooter, this time retrofitted with a prototype warp core in his ship that will take him to distant worlds. The game features a new array of destructive weapons and berserk robots that ups the ante from its predecessor.

The Best Edition in the Series
Descent II is the best edition in the series. The level design compared to one mix up fire, ice, jungle, etc. There are also bosses every four or five levels compared to only two in the entire game in the first installment. The switches and secret doors are the most excessive in this edition but it was fun to figure out where to go.
