Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom Review
Much different than the previous game, but enjoyed some of the new elements like city building. Skirmishes could have been better, but nice break to do from time to time. Story was extremely bland and not that interesting. I enjoyed the dream doors and labyrinth first time through, but didn't want to grind for better gear through them after awhile. The combat was fun, but some elements like the higgildies weren't as fun due to having to hit before ring expires and being out of reach. I would play again knowing what I know though.

Beware: ridicoulous amounts of puns
adorable catboy prince goes on adventure with experienced president of the united states to unite a kingdom in the sweetest toothrotting fluffiest adventure i have ever played i loved it

the prince of the house of tildrum is a half catfolk boy with cat ears called evan pettiwhisker and a father (who is a catfolk who looks like a lion) called lionheart
the first bad guy you enncounter is a ferret called mausinger (i don't know what to tell you but the designers are really creative atleast) right down to dubious chinese sounding names, i am not convinced are chinese because of the dog npc called yip yip

the GRAINplay is great and addicting i find myself constantly going"just one more monster fight " or "ille just gather the resources one more time and i'lle stop"
addicting WOMbat system that makes you feel badass once you get the hang of it but its best to avoid Mutton mashing, thats usually how i die

i wish the comnpanion ai was better at dodging AOEattacks that would be nice and the aggro rate is weird since i get targeted even when i don't do anything so i end up running away the whole fight and dodging while the ai wails on my enemy nothing is however as satisfying as beating a tough enemy after multiple tries

theres also the strategic element when you start using you're army to fight other army's for the first time

you innitially get two units at first. units have one special skill and are either of 4 diffierent unit types long range ,short range , heavy hitters and shields i still get confused wich kills wich
while most of these are fun it becomes clear very quickly that there is a certain order of doing these missions and some of them feel very untested and unfair

allot of reviews i have seen give this game just like botw a 10/10 rating but no game is perfect and as much as i love this game and its protagonist...
its fluffiness may not be for everyone

its very much a casual gamers game wich is obvcious from the very first time you start up the game and see the difficulty settings

its definetly a time sinker once you get invested

you may die of pun overload

the strategic elements feel untested and unfair at times and theres a clear order in wich to do them in or grind like you're life depends on it

keeping on level with the local enemies is a good idea as well if the highest local wildlife is lvl 47 assume you need to be lvl 47 when you leave the area tho that is not hard to do

all in all a game i recomend everyone give a try if they get the chance

minor spoiler and personal opinion ahead ~~~~

i was level 42 when i first fought bastion i got smashed so hard i still feel the burn
i ended up grinding like mad after beating him after like 4 attempts(thank god it wasn't more)

i realy really wished i could hit the bad guys harder then i am allowed too
