Pregnancy (2014)

I went into Pregnancy expecting a story that delves into the difficulties of young, single pregnancy. Instead I essentially got an opportunity to be part of a decision-making process, and while the result is perhaps less artistically viable, it's clear that wasn't Pregnancy's intent to begin with; this is meant to inspire thought and inform people who are going through unexpected and/or unwanted pregnancies.

As a result, I feel woefully unqualified to actually say how well it did, but I get the impression it's a decent way to go about it. Any 15-minute presentation of this subject will be oversimplified, but it goes through many elements of the decision-making process in such a scenario and even provides links to both pro-life and pro-choice resources at the end. The idea seems to have been to give pregnant teens a simplified way to think through the implications of their decisions and bring them to their own conclusion, and as far as I can tell it's a decent effort.

So as a narrative work, it falls a bit short, but its intent is to help inform pregnant teens and walk them through a thought process to help them determine how they think and feel about the situation, and on that front I think it succeeds just fine.

Just take my review with a grain of salt, seeing as I'm a dude and don't really have any personal experience with the subject matter.
