Only Souls style game I liked. Accessible to anyone with patience!
Having never gotten into the Souls series, I was hesitant until word of mouth and user reviews said this game was utter perfection. I'm happy to report they were correct. The gameplay is fast, difficult, and positively addictive. The graphics are beautiful though not quite as extraordinary as other next gen titles, and the much praised soundtrack was almost nonexistent. Where it excels is gameplay, setting, atmosphere, a trial and error system of gaming that while difficult never seems unfair, and exceptional level design. I initially hated the apparent lack of story, until checking out a video on the game's lore on youtube. Once things are explained to you, you find that the meticulous attention to detail and depth of the story is incredible. I found myself enthralled with every location, connecting it in my head to the story and what I knew of the principle characters, and came away satisfied. I am roughly three hours based on game walkthroughs, from completing this masterpiece and I will definitely be returning to Yarhnam for years to come. GET THIS GAME
