Penumbra: Requiem (2008)

2.93 from 20 votes
The final entry in the Penumbra series, considered disappointing by fans for its sudden switch to the puzzle genre. Gone are the monsters and the cohesive world to explore, leaving only clearly divided levels where the objective is simply to find a number of artifacts required to activate the level's exit portal.

Puzzled but not scared
It's a short expansion for the Black Plague focused mainly on puzzles, which are mostly fun and not too difficult. The main thing which made me keep moving forward was to find out how the Penumbra story ends.

The atmosphere is little bit ruined by the fact that the levels have no logical connection to each other and the it all feels like a series of random puzzle levels. Also, the first person platforming sucks.
