Underated
Very specifically I am talking about the Super Nintendo version which is a non linear mission based game rather than level based which is was uncommon for the time. This game is a much different version from the other ports and doesn't deserve to get lumped in with the infereor NES and Genesis versions.
Everything about this game is top notch, the action is slower paced but intense. Shooting aliens has a satisfying crunch to it but you need to watch your ammo as it can deplete rapidly.
The music as some of the best action tracks I have ever heard. It matches the atmosphere and theme of the Aliens franchise in a way that most games never do. Sound effects are equally excellent machine the same sounds you hear from the movies. The animation good and the sprites are large and clear.
The game is difficult but not quiet up there with other games of the time so the challenge is fair with few spikes.
Alien 3 for the SNES is usually forgotten because of how bad the other ports are but if you are reading this then give Alien 3 on the SNES a chance.
